Every spring, eyes are directed towards the cherry trees in the Kungsträdgården in Stockholm – it is the time of year when they usually bloom. But this year, just in time for the Christmas shopping in November, Stockholmers have had a new chance to see the pink flowers.
The trees are not in full bloom, but the mild weather seems to have tricked the trees. The Norwegian National Museum of Natural History’s biologist Didrik Vanhoenacker’s theory is that it has been warm for so long that bud dormancy has been broken.
