The chaos on the E22 – the investigation is complete

The investigation into what happened during the snow chaos on the E22 in January in Skåne is complete.
In interviews from the report, harsh criticism is directed at the Swedish Transport Administration, reports P4 Malmö, which has read the investigators’ notes.
– All actors thought that the Swedish Transport Administration had the lead – except the Swedish Transport Administration themselves, says a manager at the county administrative board, according to the memorial notes.

The Swedish Transport Agency’s official on standby says that he had no idea of the situation at the authorities’ first meeting on the evening in question, despite the fact that around a hundred cars had already been stuck in the huge queue for hours. The police and emergency services had a better picture of the situation, but believed that the Swedish Transport Agency should take command, according to the notes.

More than 1,000 vehicles got stuck in the snow chaos on the E22 between Hörby and Kristianstad. Some were sitting for a whole day.

The investigation in its entirety will be presented on Tuesday.
