The very first season of Lyxfällan was broadcast in 2006, and since then has continued to engage the Swedish people at home on the TV sofas.

In an interview with News24 tells the presenters Magdalena Kowalczyk and Magnus Hedberg about how the new season of Lyxfällan differs from the previous seasons, and how the cases they encounter have changed over time.
– This season is different in that it was recorded last year when interest rate increases, consequences of increased electricity prices and increased food prices were in full effect. Basic costs had increased across the board and many of the people we meet are people who have not felt the pressure to review all other costs of convenience but have carried on as usual. The math simply hasn’t added up, explains Magdalena Kowalczyk and continues:
– To a large extent, it’s not luxury and flair at all, it’s simply an everyday life that doesn’t add up because you haven’t sacrificed anything even though you should.
Magdalena Kowalczyk also explains that something that stands out about the season is that it is very young people who participate.

Even Magnus Hedberg has noted some differences in season 34, compared to previous rounds.
– It changes a little gradually every season. After all, you see long-term trends that are becoming more and more apparent. Among other things, the fact that there are new loan companies popping up, like mushrooms in the soil, says Magnus Hedberg and continues:
– In general, I think that the people we help now have many more places where they have loans. And that’s probably an effect of that, I think. It is extremely easy to borrow money today and easy to live beyond your means for a long time before it runs out. And it shows.
