Towards a complicated day in transport? The CGT-RATP called a strike on Thursday April 4 to demand payment in the coming months of salary increases negotiated with management.
The group’s first union, the CGT had not signed the increase of 100 euros gross per month proposed by management in February, and is demanding a “return to the negotiating table”. “Despite the Management’s media plan, on the famous 100 euros per month salary increase at the RATP, the agents will only see the color, in reality, after Christmas,” criticizes the union in a press release. “RATP agents need this money now!”, he adds.
The CGT had filed a strike notice extending from February to September and therefore covering the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
An average increase of 4.2% for all employees
The increase proposed by RATP as part of the obligatory annual negotiations (NAO) for 2024 represents an average increase of 4.2% for all employees in the historical scope of RATP in Ile-de-France, i.e. 1,300 euros on a year’s salary, according to the public group. This measure, equivalent to 15 index points, comes in two stages with a first increase on June 1st followed by another on December 1st.
The CGT, for its part, demanded a salary increase of 50 index points “for all” and an indexation of salaries to inflation, as well as negotiations to move to 32 hours of weekly work.
At the same time, the Unsa and FO unions suspended in mid-March their participation in negotiations concerning the Olympics and other subjects such as taking into account travel discomfort or arduousness at work, further increasing the pressure on management at the approaching the competition.
