The cathedral in Rouen in France is on fire

Images show black smoke rising and flames shooting out of the building.

There are no reports of anyone being injured. The building is being evacuated and according to the city’s mayor, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, it is unclear what caused the fire.

In a post on X shares a picture from the scene and calls on the public to help the rescue service during the extinguishing work.

Several media reports that renovation work is underway on the spire and the fire is said to have started next to scaffolding, writes FranceBleu.
