When Ellen Simu in Norra Svartbyn in Boden let her cat Pettson out almost three years ago, she thought he would come back. That was not the case.
– He didn’t come back. We searched and searched. They have their quirks, but he didn’t show up, she says in Nyhetsmorgon.

Despite several posts on social media and help from neighbors, friends and acquaintances, Pettson could not be located.
– After a year we gave up, says Ellen Simu.
In mid-December this year, the unexpected happened. On social media, Ellen Simu received a tip that the cat had been seen in the local area.
– We realized it was our cat, made contact and then he was home, she says.
The theory: “Has lived the flea”
It is still unclear where Pettson has been for the past 33 months – and what he has done.
– He has lived the life of the flea, says Ellen Simu jokingly.
Although it has been a while since Pettson was at home in Northern Svartbyn, the pet has adapted quickly.
– He is himself, it’s like he’s only been away for a week, says Ellen Simu, who emphasizes that the reunion means a lot.
– It’s a fantastic Christmas present. I couldn’t have wished for anything more, she says.
