In August we return to Westeros. Then the second series from the Game of Thrones universe starts. But we have to do without a reunion with Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage. Because the new GOT series takes place around 200 years before the events of the Song of Ice and Fire. We present you the Cast of House of the Dragon and reveal (without spoilers, of course) what is known about the figures.
House of the Dragon Cast: Who Plays Viserys, Rhaenyra, and Daemon?
The dragon emblem is in the title and so we can look forward to numerous blonde wigs in House of the Dragon. The series takes place at a time when the Targaryens rule over the Seven Kingdoms.

Paddy Considine as Targaryen ruler
Dany’s brother Viserys, gilded to death, owes his name to this ruler on the Iron Throne, who ruled the Seven Kingdoms in a time of peace and prosperity. Of the peace-loving, warm man could hardly deviate from the cliché of the murderous Targaryen rulers. Tragically, the foundations for the later civil war were also laid during his reign.
Paddy Considine plays Viserys I. You might have bumped into him in Peaky Blinders, Hot Fuzz and The Death of Stalin.
Who plays who in House of the Dragon: Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy are Rhaenyra TargaryenPrincess Rhaenyra Targaryen is the only surviving child from Viserys’ first marriage. The dragon rider was known at a young age as Heir to the Iron Throne chosen. She is described as proud and stubborn and this will also show in the power struggle for rulership of the Seven Kingdoms.
Emma D’Arcy (Hanna, Truth Seekers) plays the adult Rhaenyra, while Milly Alcock, who is primarily active on Australian television, portrays a younger version of the character.

King Viserys’ younger brother is one of the most fascinating figures of this era. Prince Daemon is an excellent fighter, who doesn’t always have his temper under control. He plays a not insignificant role in the power structure of the Seven Kingdoms. The Dragon Rider also shares a particularly close bond with his niece, Rhaenyra.
Matt Smith is one of the most famous cast members of the Game of Thrones offshoot. He was the 11th Doctor in Doctor Who, played Prince Philip in The Crown and most recently starred as the villain Milo in Marvel’s Morbius.
Who plays who in House of the Dragon: Olivia Cooke and Emily Carey are Alicent HightowerNot Targaryen, but no less important to the story Alicent Hightower. The most graceful woman in Westeros (according to the description) is the daughter of the King’s Hand, Otto Hightower. Raised in a powerful environment, she knows exactly how to steer events in her favour.
Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One, Sound of Metal) plays the adult version of Alicent, while Emily Carey, who starred as 12-year-old Diana Prince in Wonder Woman, takes on the younger version of the wily power politician.

The Hightower family has close ties to the Targaryens, thanks in no small part to that Otto, who already stood by Viserys’ father as the hand of the king. However, the sympathies of the learned strategist do not extend to the younger brother of his current king. Rather, Daemon is Otto’s great rival.
Rhys Ifans, who rose to world fame with Notting Hill, played the villain Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man and played Mycroft Holmes in Elementary.
Who plays who in House of the Dragon: Steve Toussaint is Corlys Velaryon© HBO
Steve Toussaint
The most famous seafarer in Westeros history is nicknamed The Sea Snake. Lord Corlys Velaryon is an adventurer through and through. He explored the seas as a child. He became a captain at 16, and over the years, through his voyages, Corlys amassed vast fortunes and a powerful fleet. Corlys is married to the king’s cousin, Rhaenys Targaryen.
Corlys actor Steve Toussaint has enjoyed a long career in British television and cinema. He was featured in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time as well as It’s a Sin.
Who plays who in House of the Dragon: Eve Best is Rhaenys Targaryen© HBO
Eve Best
At the heart of House of the Dragon is a woman with a claim to the throne who is passed over in favor of a man. Princess Rhaenys Targaryen went through that too. After being alienated several times in favor of her cousin Viserys, she has a difficult relationship with her family. The nickname “Queen Who Never Was” actually says it all. Clever, fearless Rhaenys is married to Corlys Velaryon, who is just as willful as she is.
Eve Best is an award-winning theater actress who has shown her talent in Fate: The Winx Saga, Nurse Jackie and The King’s Speech.

Fabian Frankel
If you’re looking for a Jon Snow replacement in House of the Dragon, you could Ser Criston Cole be the one. A native of Dorne, this extremely talented fighter has no country or title, but uses his talent to work his way up to become the commander of the Kingsguard.
Fabien Frankel wears the armor of the knight, which is his biggest role to date after appearing in The Serpent.
Who plays who in House of the Dragon: Sonoya Mizuno is Mysaria© HBO
Sonoya Mizuno
Haunted by some unsavory nicknames (Lady Misery or Misery, the White Worm). Mysaria’s rise that of spy expert Varys in Game of Thrones. Sold several times, she ends up in Westeros, where she exerts great influence, including on Daemon Targaryen.
Sonoya Mizuno looks back on a relatively narrow filmography, but it is full of highlights. She is perhaps best known for her sci-fi collaborations with Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation and Devs).
