Christmas is fast approaching and as usual, SVT will broadcast a Christmas calendar from December 1 until the big baptist day on December 24.
Over the years, several of the calendars have become real classics, including “Mysteriet på Greveholm”, “When the carousels sleep” and “Trolltider”.
Now another potential classic awaits.

The 2024 Christmas calendar is called “Snödrömmar”, or in Sami “LopmenïekedÁssh”.

What is the Christmas calendar 2024 about?
According to SVT, the Christmas calendar will take place in a Sami fantasy world. On fictional Gavmofjäll, the snow has been described by some as magical. It is softer and whiter than anywhere else. But this particular year, no snow falls, which makes things very difficult for the character Maggan and her daughters Ristin and Aila. Maggan runs a ski resort on the mountain and without snow they may have to sell and move.
But in a dream, Ristin receives a mission from her grandmother: to save the mountain.
– With Snow Dreams, we want to take the viewer on a thrilling Christmas journey into unknown, exciting worlds, both ones we can see and some that are hidden from view. There will be cryptic riddles, alien beings and miracles of nature, and those who stay until the end may find out all of Gavmofjäll’s secrets, say the directors Jonas Wallerström and Jacob Seth Fransson in a press release.

What time is the Christmas calendar 2024 on SVT?
On weekdays, the Christmas calendar 2024 is broadcast on SVT1 at 07.15. On weekends, “Snödrömmar” runs a little later – at 08.45.
The episodes can of course also be seen on SVT Play. There will also be a dubbed version of the Christmas calendar in Southern Sami and a subtitled version of “Snödrömmar” in Northern Sami.
