Lord of the Rings cast speaks out against racist hostilities

As Variety reports, the cast of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has a Statement against the racist comments released. In it, the cast writes, among other things:

We, the cast of The Rings of Power, stand together in absolute solidarity and against the unrelenting racism, threats, harassment and abuse, which some of our colleagues are exposed to every day. We refuse to ignore or tolerate it. JRR Tolkien created a world that is by definition multicultural. A world where free peoples of different races and cultures unite in community to defeat the forces of evil. The Rings of Power reflect that. Our world has never been entirely white, imagination has never been entirely white, Middle-earth is not entirely white. BIPOC [Black, Indigenous, and People of Color] belong in Middle-earth and they are here to stay.
