The legislative campaign is officially over and the elections will be held on Sunday, June 30. This date also marks the end of three weeks of rapid reorganizations in the municipalities. Three weeks during which it was necessary to set up polling stations again, obtain ballots, and campaign posters. In many town halls, these two unexpected elections fall in the middle of the holiday departure period, reducing the staff and therefore the number of assessors present.

The assessors are those who actually manage the smooth running of the vote. And on the eve of the legislative elections, at Bois-Colombes town hall, assessors were a rare commodity. For the chief of staff, Karine Fischer, these last three weeks have been a race against time: “ We immediately contacted the assessors who had ensured the running of the offices for the European elections, we mobilized all the people who traditionally attend. »

Mandatory reinforcements for the smooth running of these unexpected elections, as deputy mayor Gilles Chaumerliac points out: “ On the evening of the Europeans, we started looking at each other and said that on June 30 and July 7, during the holiday period, “finding assessors is going to be rock’n’roll”. »

Only a few days left to fill the list of assessors for the second round

On the municipality’s website, a call for volunteer assessors has been published for several days. And for Sunday, everything seems ready. “ There, we manage to have two, or even three permanent assessors and even have substitute assessors. That’s for June 30. After July 7, it’s a little more complicated because there, inevitably, on July 7, there are also people who will have gone on vacation. », Explains the deputy mayor.

The final list of assessors is validated on the Thursday preceding the elections. Only a few days left to complete that of July 7.
