Aron, 12, filmed: “Be scared – he drove in zigzag for almost 80 kilometers per hour”
Completely open, the bus driver sat and looked at Tiktok – while pushing children to school.
After months of insecure travel, twelve -year -old Aron, who filmed the driver and alerted Mom, got tired.
– I was afraid. He drove in zigzag for almost 80 kilometers per hour, he says.
On wintry roads in Dalarna, the bus driver drove the children to and from school for several months.
But the trips were bordered by the concern among the young travelers – because the driver looked at clips from Tiktok and Youtube while performing the bus.
– He did it almost all the time. I was scared. He drove in zigzag for almost 80 kilometers per hour, says twelve -year -old Aron.
Mom Inna: one gets angry, scared and sad
The children on the bus discussed the driver’s behavior, but did not dare to confront him. At the beginning of December last year, Aron finally led and chose to film a sequence where the bus driver looks at Tiktok while driving.
Then he showed the clip for Mom Inna, who reacted strongly to what she saw.
– You get angry and scared and sad because you think the children are safe and secure when you send them away. But they were not, she says.
Employer: Unacceptable
The next day she called Dalatrafik to report the matter. But she didn’t feel they took her concern seriously.
Twelve days after Inna’s call, Dalatrafik chose to contact the man’s employer Transdev, who gave the bus driver a written warning and turned him off for three weeks before he was allowed to return to service.
– We think it’s unacceptable. There is nothing we want our drivers to do, says Sara Andersson, Business Manager at Transdev, to P4 Dalarna.
The employer informed the bus driver specifically, but also went out broadly to remind the employees of the laws and regulations that apply.
“Feels like he got away too easily”
The bus driver has now returned and drives the children to school again. So far without reports that he has simultaneously looked at the mobile.
But Mom Inna has a hard time forgetting what has happened.
“It feels like he got away too easily,” she says.
