The producer of the French series led by Mathieu Kassovitz announces a sequel which should take place in Africa.

The legends officeit’s not quite finished. This Tuesday, November 5, the producer of the cult French series, Alex Berger, announced a new project in development around the plot since the International Audiovisual Content Show. The series featuring Mathieu Kassovitz in the role of Malotru could have a sequel.

Titles The office in Africa At the moment, these new episodes are only in the development stage. “We already have several scenarios,” confirmed Alex Berger on Tuesday. This sequel could therefore follow French agents working under a false identity on the African continent. “France’s historic relationship with West African countries is a good playing field,” noted the producer. “France’s geopolitics points more towards Africa, after Françafrique, the events that occurred in Niger, Burkina or Mali, these are things that interest us.”

This sequel to Legends Office has been in gestation since 2021, the producer also detailed. “The idea was to be able to leave enough time between the two series, so as not to have a simple sequel. I don’t think it will be a season six… although!” For now, therefore, the project still remains unclear, as does the date of possible filming which has not been shared.

An American remake is coming soon

The legends office ended in 2020 on Canal+. A flagship French series of recent years, it follows the adventures of French secret service agents undercover abroad, particularly in the Middle East. If the African sequel does not see the light of day, however, don’t panic: the universe will soon return to television.

An American remake of ten episodes, titled The Agencyis broadcast in the United States on November 29, 2024. It is Michael Fassbender, known for his roles in Shame, X-Men or even Inglorious Basterds who will play the leading role, that of a CIA agent forced to return to London and abandon his cover. He will opposite Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman), Richard Gere (Pretty Woman) or Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen and Slim).
