Isabel Erikssonwho was working as an escort at the time, came into contact with the then 38-year-old doctor Martin Trenneborg via an online advertisement. On their first date, they had sex. At their second meeting, Eriksson was drugged, taken to Trenneborg’s car in a wheelchair and abducted.
When she later woke up, she was trapped in a soundproof bunker, built at Trenneborg’s farm in eastern Scania.

Now the case has become a documentary series. In “The Bunker Woman”, which is broadcast on TV3 and Viaplay, Eriksson – who managed to get free after six days in the bunker – tells about her experience.
– It may sound like a crazy horror movie, but it really happened. I hope that if I tell my story and go through everything in detail, it can free me from all the horrible memories. So I don’t have to be afraid anymore, she said in a press release from Viaplay.

In the Stockholm district court, Martin Trenneborg was sentenced to ten years in prison for kidnapping. But the sentence was appealed and in the Svea Court of Appeal the prison sentence was reduced to eight years.
– I am of course happy that the Court of Appeal reduced the length of the prison sentence, but I still think – in comparison to other human trafficking cases that also included gross sexual abuse – that the penalty is long, said the bunker doctor’s lawyer Mary Schaub to The Express when.

In the judgment, which News24 taken note of, it appears that the court took into account several circumstances that were the basis for the reduced sentence. Among other things, it was pointed out that Trenneborg could “presumably be fired or dismissed”, his mental condition and that he himself interrupted the kidnapping.
“The crime against humanity has thus ended much earlier than what was intended and what, given the rigorous planning that preceded the act, could otherwise have been the case. This must be taken into account when sentencing”, can be read in the Court of Appeal’s judgment.

But in addition to the prison sentence, Trenneborg was also sentenced to pay damages. Just like the district court, the court of appeal considered that the bunker doctor should pay SEK 180,000 in damages to Isabel Eriksson.

Has Martin Trenneborg paid damages to Isabel Eriksson?
But how much of the compensation has Martin Trenneborg actually paid? Nyheter24 contacted The Crime Victims’ Authority.
“The total debt amounts to SEK 193,557 as of today’s date, SEK 114,845 is capital and SEK 78,712 is interest,” states Erika Ohllawyer at the authority, in an email and continues further:
“There is no ongoing installment plan in the case, the case has been with the Crown Enforcement Officer since April 2022. In November 2021, the Crime Victims’ Authority agreed with the debtor on an installment plan of SEK 700 per month, whereupon the Crime Victims’ Authority took the case back from the Crown Enforcement Officer, the case had then been there since May 2017. The debtor paid the agreed amount three times and then stopped paying in March 2022, whereupon the Crime Victims’ Authority handed the case over to the Crown Enforcement Officer again in April 2022.”

As the case is now with the Crown Prosecutor, the Crime Victims’ Authority has not made any review regarding Trenneborg’s ability to pay.
