Holly Bradshaw jumped her last pole vault competition.
Pole vault star Holly Bradshaw has told that his track and field career is over.
32-year-old Bradshaw won Olympic bronze, World Championship bronze and EC bronze in his career. His record is 490.
In the last season of his career, Bradshaw’s best was 471. He did not reach the finals at the European Championships in Rome or the Olympic Games in Paris.
Based on his Instagram post, the British jumper’s career ended with a result of 420 in the show competition in Geneva.
– I have crossed the line for the last time.
– This is the end of an era, and what an era it has been. I don’t know how to summarize my 16 years as a pole vaulter.
Bradshaw writes that he could not have imagined where the career that began in 2007 could lead.
– It’s been a whirlwind, beautiful, sometimes traumatic journey, full of ups and downs, but SO many great experiences, laughter, smiles, tears, injuries, medals, failures, British records…
Bradshaw considers the best things to be the kind of people he has been able to meet in his career and the kinds of places he has been able to visit.
For example Wilma Murto shared a photo of herself and Bradshaw together on her Instagram stories.
– I strongly believe that my own career would not be the same without Holly. His faith in me, his endless support whenever needed, his example and friendship are things for which I am extremely grateful. Thank you for being the person I admired. Happy retirement, Murto wrote emotionally.
Bradshaw has previously told Urheilu, among other things, that he had discussed the expectations and pressures related to sports with the Finnish jumper during difficult times.
