BRIDGERTON. The Bridgerton chronicle will soon be back for season 3 on Netfix. But what does this suite have in store for the Bridgerton family?

Because a season 3, a season 4 and a spin-off centered on Queen Charlotte are currently in preparation. For the time being, we do not know the release dates or the plots of each of these suites, since they have not yet been formalized by the creative teams. Filming for season 3 should begin in the summer of 2022, with a hoped for release in 2023. But the dates have yet to be formalized by Netflix.
Yes The Bridgerton Chronicle follows the order of Julia Quinn’s novels, we can expect that the romance between Benedict and Sophie, the illegitimate daughter of a viscount, will be at the heart of season 3. Shonda Rhimes, the producer, however confided that the order of the amorous intrigues of each of the Bridgertons could be turned upside down. It is therefore not impossible that season 3 will be centered on Colin and Penelope, which began in the first two seasons. Unless the writers offer a love story to Eloise, a fan favorite.
We also learned that The Bridgerton Chronicle should see the birth of a new member within the family. Jonathan Bailey, the interpreter of Anthony, revealed in an interview with The Blast, that the relationship between his character and his wife Kate will remain present in the plot. The couple should give birth to a child: “Anthony is going to be an incredible father, confided the actor about the rest of the series […] I think it will really help him grow.” In the novels written by Julia Quine, Anthony and Kate give birth to four children: Edmund, Miles, Charlotte and Marie.
If we know that the Bridgerton family will be back for a season 3, that’s all we know for the moment about this sequel. The return date of The Bridgerton Chronicle season 3 is indeed not yet known. According to Nicola Coughlan, filming should begin in the summer of 2022. We can therefore expect a release a few months later, most likely in 2023.
If Netflix decides to follow the books chronology, season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicle should concern the romance between Benedict, who will fall in love with Sophie Beckett, the illegitimate daughter of an earl. Shonda Rhimes had however announced that the series would not necessarily follow the chronology of the novels: “There are eight Bridgerton children so we plan to follow the romantic stories of each of them. However, we are not necessarily going to follow the order of the books, but each one will have its story“, she assured Entertainment Tonight. Indeed, the romance between Colin and Penelope is already beginning to be told in season 2, while Eloise gets closer to Theo. However, they are only the protagonists of the fourth and fifth novel, therefore potentially season 4 and 5. Unless there is a change of order in the chronology of the series. We are still awaiting confirmation from Netflix to learn more.
Which actors will be in the cast of The Bridgerton Chronicle season 3? Barring any last-minute changes, all of the main characters, meaning the Bridgerton family and the Featheringtons in particular, and everyone introduced in the first season, should be back for this sequel. Simone Ashley (Kate Sharma) has also confirmed that she will be back and that the marriage between her character and that of Anthony will continue to be developed in the plot. For now, we do not know if Regé-Jean Page will continue to be absent from the series or if he will return to make inroads. As a reminder, he does not appear in season 2, the actor having decided not to renew his contract.
Netflix subscribers will soon be entitled to a double dose of Bridgertons. At the same time as season 3 was confirmed, the platform of streaming announced that a season 4 was also in the works. For now, we do not know its release date or its plot. If the order of the books is to be believed, the romance between Colin and Penelope should be explored in this salvo of episodes. But Shonda Rhimes has already announced that the series will not necessarily follow the order of Julia Quinn’s novels. It is therefore not impossible that the story of Benedict and Colin is reversed. However, we must wait for confirmation from the production before knowing more, especially since it seems difficult to imagine a release of The Bridgerton Chronicle season 4 before the year 2024.
The universe of The Bridgerton Chronicle is infinitely expandable given the host of characters that appear in the first two seasons. Netflix has already announced that a Queen Charlotte spin-off is in the works. For now, the title of this event mini-series is not known. We know, however, that this spin-off will be devoted to the rise of the queen, and especially to her love affair with King George. Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury will also be at the heart of the plot.
Golda Rosheuval, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell will appear in their respective roles as The Bridgerton Chronicle. The cast is also enriched by the presence of India Amarteifio (young Queen Charlotte), Michelle Fairley (Princess Augusta), Corey Mylchreest (young King George), Arsema Thomas (young Agatha Danbury), Sam Clemmett (young Brimsley), Richard Cunnigham (Lord Bute), Tunji Kasim (Adolphus), Cyril Nri (Lord Danbury).

The Bridgerton Chronicle is the adaptation of the novels of the same name, written by Julia Quinn. Each season adapts one of the volumes of this literary saga. The first season consists of eight episodes, lasting 57 to 72 minutes. The series is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 2 goes live on the 25th March 2022 on Netflix. Synopsis – Set in 19th century England, under the English Regency, the series follows the Bridgerton family, and more specifically the eight children of Viscountess Lady Violet. The first season of Bridgerton focuses on Daphne Bridgerton, the fourth child of Viscountess Lady Violet. Daphne enters the world and meets the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset. The latter refuses to marry, despite pressure from his relatives and his mentor. Meanwhile, Daphne is desperate to find a suitable husband. After many twists and turns, Simon and Daphne manage to put aside their differences and get married to start a family. The end of the first season revealed that Penelope Featherington was hiding behind Lady Whistledown, this mysterious character who revealed the secrets of each other. Moreover, Lord Featherington has been killed and his fortune will go to a man whose identity we do not yet know. But his name does not seem to please Lady Portia. The second season of The Bridgerton Chronicle focuses on the character of Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest of the siblings who makes the firm decision to finally settle down to get married, without considering a union of love. He sets his sights on Edwina Sharma, to the great displeasure of her big sister Kate who refuses that she does not marry for love. Regé-Jean Page achieved worldwide success by interpreting Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, in The Bridgerton Chronicle. But the comedian announced in April 2021 that he will not appear in the sequel to the series. It should therefore be absent from season 2, devoted to the romance between Anthony and Kate. To justify his departure, Regé-Jean Page spoke to Variety about his discussion with the production before season 1, which had told him that each season was independent and had a specific plot: “I said to myself, ‘It’s interesting’ , because it felt like a limited series. I can participate, I can contribute, and then the Bridgerton family moves on.” However, the actor is not replaced in the role of Simon during this season 2. His wife, Daphne, appears well in this salvo of 8 new episodes, and the Duke of Hastings is indeed mentioned a few times. .
