The Boys returns for the broadcast of its fourth season this Thursday, June 13, on a weekly basis. But do you remember the latest events that shook the Seven? Recap.
The Boys are making their return to Prime Video. Season 4 of the trashy and irreverent superhero series returns for a first burst of episodes this Thursday, June 13, before a weekly broadcast which will end on July 18. But the last season having been released two years ago, do you have the latest events in the series in mind? We offer you a recap if you are lost.
In the last episodes of The Boys, our heroes think they will find the weapon capable of killing the Protector: Super Boy, a former super who was, in his time, the most powerful of all. To control it, Hughie and Butcher make a radical decision: inject themselves with V24, a substance derived from compound V (which allows the creation of a Super), but whose duration does not exceed 24 hours. Butcher and Super Boy then make a deal, while the latter discovers that he is the father of the Protector. But Butcher having abused V24, his days are now numbered, and he only has a few months to live.
For his part, the Protector finished season 4 of The Boys in a bloody way. After being exposed by Starlight (who has officially joined the Boys) twice about all the bloodthirsty acts he may have committed, he is cornered but manages to convince his son Ryan to join his cause. While an activist throws an empty plastic bottle in his son’s face to protest, Super kills him with a laser beam, in the eyes of the public, before being cheered by conspirators, who he makes believe that Starlight is human trafficking.
We also learn in season 3 that Victoria Neuman is herself a Supe, who is capable of manipulating blood. She makes a deal with the Protector which opens her way to a prominent position to become president. Victoria Neuman also injected her daughter, Zoe, with Compound V to make her a Super. At the same time, several characters die at the end of season 3: Black Noir (who will however return in another version in season 4), Queen Maeve has left and pretends to be dead and Super Boy, who has however been cryogenically frozen. .
In the cast of this fourth season, we find the memorable faces of The Boys: Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit , and Cameron Crovetti all come back. And some new faces will spice things up, like Susan Heyward (Powers), Valorie Curry (Blair Witch), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead).
