It’s back to school and mornings set to the minute are back. Breakfast, brushing teeth, getting dressed… No room for the unexpected. So to avoid having to look for a sock and missing the time, the box method will save the day.
In the morning, time is of the essence. Between the alarm clock and leaving for school, it’s a race against time that begins. And very often, getting dressed slows down your momentum: “Where did your t-shirt go? You can’t wear your dirty sneakers! And your coat, did it stay in the car?” So to avoid this, a young mother revealed her ingenious solution: the box method.
Katelyn Knibbe revealed the trick on TikTok. A mother of three, she says that when she was little, she would go through 4 to 5 outfits before finding the right one. The result: a messy room and a lot of backlog. So she had to think of a strategy that would save her time during morning routines with her children, and above all, get them dressed in just a few seconds. That’s when the box method became a staple in the home organization.
This tip consists of preparing five boxes, one for each day of the week, from Monday to Friday. In each of these boxes, you will only have to prepare your child’s complete outfit in advance: clothes, underwear, socks, shoes and even accessories such as hair clips or belts. You can also do this preparation with your child, if he prefers to choose what he wants to wear himself.
Then, each box is labeled with the corresponding day of the week (we still advise you to keep an eye on the weather and to plan an outfit for rainy days in another box). The child can then dress himself and dad, too, can take care of dressing his little one. No more debates about the choice of outfit or delays because of a lost sock. The week is organized and the whole family is better for it!
