In connection with the celebration, the new Kulturträdgårdarna facility was also inaugurated. Maria Sjöstedt hopes that the facility will become a gathering place for visitors, and a place for learning about cultivation and biodiversity.
– I have dreamed of making a garden on this surface for many, many years, she says.
“An oasis in the city”
Some who had sat on the grass to listen to the music from the celebration were Anna Bylund and Karoline Weber. For Anna Bylund, the Botanical Garden means a lot.
– It’s like an oasis for this town, she says.
