The confused situation in Russia casts a shadow over the EU’s meeting of foreign ministers to be held in Luxembourg. EU foreign affairs director Josep Borrell estimates that the war of aggression will begin to crush Russia’s power structures.
LUXEMBOURG Foreign minister Elina Valtonen The (collective) ministerial term has gotten off to a lively start due to the events in Russia. Valtonen commented on the situation before the meeting of EU foreign ministers to be held in Luxembourg.
– It is important to understand that this is an internal situation in Russia, which we are monitoring and taking precautions if there is reason to take precautions, Valtonen said.
Valtonen emphasizes that there is no threat to Finland and that the border with Russia is peaceful. According to him, the civil service and the state administration are closely monitoring the situation. Finnish legislation is also up to date.

According to Valtonen, it is premature to assess what kind of effects the weekend coup attempt will have on the Russian leadership and the war of aggression.
– But it can be expected that this will have an effect on how Russians perceive their own leadership and on what kind of image Russia has on the outside.
Borrell: The monster has been unleashed
