the bonuses obtained by metro drivers during the Olympics –

Good for agreement. A few weeks before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the majority unions – CGT and Force Ouvrière – RATP agreed, Wednesday April 24, on the amount of bonuses. The most active metro and RER drivers will be able to receive up to 2,500 euros: a bonus of 1,600 euros accompanied by an “exceptional event” bonus of 44.10 euros per day worked on 12 metro lines and the RER A and B. A system which concerns some 2,000 agents out of the 30,000 who will work on the Games.

Because to receive the bonus, several conditions are required. First of all, employees must not take more than five days of leave over the period from July 22 to September 8. The bonus of 1,600 euros will be reduced by half in the event of absence of five days. And to obtain 100% of the bonus, employees must not be absent for more than four days. In addition, only employees working on one or more of the twelve lines affected by the system will benefit from the bonus and the exceptional bonus. Namely, lines 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7bis, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14.

Possibility of carrying over up to 11 days of leave

In order to avoid the dreaded staff shortage this summer, other measures have been put in place by the company managed by Jean Castex. For example, it will be possible to postpone up to 11 days of untaken leave in 2024 within a period which runs until September 2025. On certain metro lines, like the 9 which must be particularly reinforced, “we “We have postponed 70% of vacations,” RATP told AFP, which is committed to ensuring that 19,000 agents are mobilized every day. A real challenge for the RATP which will have to increase its transport offer by 15% during the week during the Games, and by 30% on the weekend.

Several other negotiations for Olympic bonuses are underway, each carried out by profession. RATP Régie agents who will work during the Games (including station agents, maintenance workers, bus drivers, etc.) will, for example, receive a bonus of 1,000 euros. The police officers will receive a basic bonus of 1,900 euros, backed by additional compensation for agents traveling for at least five days on security missions linked to the Paris games. The best off remain the AP-HP staff, where bonuses vary from 800 to 2,500 euros gross per week depending on the employment categories. At SNCF, no agreement has yet been reached.
