The man was arrested on Thursday in his absence. The negotiation was held behind closed doors and the lawyer Oskar Söderberg was charged with a prohibition on an expression. In addition, Umeå District Court has, at the prosecutor’s request, classified the identity of the criminal offense.
– I know why it was done but must not tell, says Oskar Söderberg.
– Unfortunately, I cannot leave any comments on this case. Possibly later but not now, says prosecutor Stina Stener.
Is consistent with the Skellefteå case
An arrest request shows that the man is suspected, among other things, for serious violation of the Flammable and Explosive Goods Act in Skellefteå on December 8-11, 2024.
At that particular time, a 35-year-old man who was charged last Friday was arrested. The origin was a well -known police stroke against an address in Skellefteå. The man is suspected to have manufactured and handled explosive charges intended for organized crime.
The police believe that the devices would be used to push a restaurant owner in Umeå for money. The man who was deported from Thailand is suspected to have been involved in those plans.
Coordinated with drug investigation
State Prosecutor Thomas Forsberg has access to the various investigations. He does not want to comment on how the last arrested man can be linked to the Skellefteå investigation and plans for an explosive attack in Umeå.
– It must become public when the preliminary investigation against him is complete, says Thomas Forsberg.
The investigation against the man who was arrested in Thailand has for practical reasons been moved to Umeå, because it is coordinated with another investigation into serious drug crime. More people are reviewed for this.
