Authorities identified the body based on fingerprints.
The body of a young man found yesterday in the Masca area of Tenerife has been confirmed as the body of the British man who disappeared on June 17.
Tenerife authorities confirmed that the body belonged to a 19-year-old For Jay Slater by examining the fingerprint. According to the authorities, the injuries on the body indicate that Slater died as a result of falling from the cliff.
Slater’s disappearance triggered a major search operation. Eventually, members of the Guardia Civil of Tenerife found the body well from a sheltered place“which does not attract passers-by”.
The discovery site was close to the last location of Slater’s phone.
