US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Egypt’s capital Cairo early Wednesday morning.
The purpose of the trip is to discuss efforts to bring about a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, according to the US State Department. Among other things, he will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The visit will be Blinken’s tenth in the region since the outbreak of war on October 7 last year.
