The Blekinge Hospital receives strong criticism from Ivo – requires action

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The inspection is part of the national supervision of emergency healthcare that Ivo carries out. During the inspection, it has emerged that the hospital has only been in normal conditions for ten days since the turn of the year.

Ivo assesses that Blekinge Hospital does not manage and plan the operations so that good care can be maintained. There is a lack of available care places to meet the needs that exist, a main reason is considered to be the lack of nurses.

Risks serious medical damage

Among other things, it is established that patients are cared for in places that are not patient-safe and, according to the authority, patients are at risk of suffering serious care injuries.

Now Ivo requests that Region Blekinge review the shortcomings and report both short- and long-term measures no later than February 2 next year. If the deficiencies are not remedied, Ivo may order the region to do so.
