The Blacklist and one of the most successful crime universes canceled or renewed

The Blacklist, the Chicago franchise, the classic crime thriller Law & Order and the sci-fi series La Brea have one thing in common: they are all series on the US TV channel NBC. This now decides how things will continue in the future with a total of 16 series favorites.

NBC is one of the five major US networks that presents its new series for the coming season every May. We have put together this overview of the future of the NBC series. You can find them all here canceled, renewed and new NBC series for the 2023/2024 season.

Sci-Fi Mysteries and Crime Heaps: All the Series Renewed by NBC

The future of two enormously popular series franchises is save. Both the three Chicago series and the three Law & Order series will all be returning for new seasons. Sci-Fi fans, on the other hand, can get a Continuation of the time travel series Quantum Leap, which has not yet been released in Germany.

After a small series universe was finally stamped out by CBS with Magnum PI last year, NBC saved the reboot series shortly afterwards for a 5th season with a total of 20 episodes. It is not yet known whether there will be further seasons with Thomas Magnum and Juliet Higgins at the new station home.

The Blacklist and New Amsterdam: All Series Canceled by NBC

After 10 seasons and over 200 episodes the series hit The Blacklist will come to an end next July. In Germany, the series finale is expected to appear on Netflix in August or September. You can already stream The Blacklist season 10 in German.

The hospital series New Amsterdam, on the other hand, ended in January 2023 after 5 seasons. The good news is that both series were not canceled unexpectedly. The Series ends were set in timein order to be able to complete the respective stories properly.

The fate of the following series is currently unclear:

Comedy Starring Two and a Half Men: All the New Series from NBC

In total four pilots on potential series has had NBC produce: a murder mystery series, a hospital series starring Zachary Quinto, a mockumentary and a multi-camera sitcom. So far, none of them have received a series order. Three series innovations the US broadcaster, on the other hand, had previously commissioned it.

It is currently uncertain when the new and extended series can start. The reason: The Hollywood writers’ strike that began in May has currently frozen the writer’s rooms in which the series scripts are created. Depending on how long this strike lasts, the regular Strongly delaying the start of the TV season in autumn. (You can read more about the script strike and the demands here)

NBC has not yet made a final decision on all series. As soon as the full program is announced, we will update the information in this article.
