Even if it is uniquely “naked”.
– That it was almost eaten is really sad to see, but we made a decision that we didn’t want to scare the birds away, says the goat’s press spokesperson Anna-Karin Niemann.

– He has stood the whole Christmas and is still standing so it has made it. And we’ve had a lot of positive feedback from Gävle residents who were happy that he was there all Christmas, says Anna-Karin Niemann.
The fact that the birds were attracted to the goat this year is because there were still kernels left in the straw that clothes it. Which in turn is due to heavy rain before the harvest.
– We have gone back in the archives and we cannot find that anything similar has happened before. However, this has been a tradition since 1966.
What will be done to prevent it from happening next year?
– We will consult with the farmer and try to ensure that it does not happen again. But of course it is difficult because we cannot control the weather.
The goat is scheduled to remain until January 2nd, and that’s what it looks like, even though it may be completely eaten by then.
– It takes time to book lifting cranes and so on and it was done early in the planning so it will remain until January 2.
