Every Western fan must have seen The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at least once in their life. Along with Once Upon a Time in the West, which was also directed by Sergio Leone, this masterpiece is one of the best films of its genre of all time.
But no film in history is safe from mistakeswhich can end up in the finished work after filming. Our international sister site Allociné has now drawn attention to one such film in the Leone milestone with Clint Eastwood.
Western classic for eternity: This is the story of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Leone’s film, also known under the English title The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, is about three characters hunting for a great treasure. In detail, these are Clint Eastwood as the good guy aka the blond, Lee Van Cleef as the evil Setenza and Eli Wallach as the Mexican bandit Tuco. They are looking for a cash box that is said to have been buried with 200,000 dollars. The protagonists quickly get in each other’s way and everything finally comes to a head in a big showdown.

After almost 2.5 hours, an amusing mistake can be discovered in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
As our colleagues from Allociné explain in their article, there is a mistake in the film at 2 hours and 28 minutes. In the scene, the blonde and Tuco are placing explosives on a suspension bridge.
If you stop at the mentioned spot and look closely, you will see in the trees on the top right behind Eastwood’s character a passing car! Since the western is set in 1862 and the earliest version of an automobile dates back to 1886, this is actually not possible.

You can now look for the film error yourself on Amazon Prime. The brilliant western is currently streaming here on the flat screen. The car that can be seen in the background for about a second will not ruin your enjoyment of this masterpiece.
