Players have been able to play the Ubisoft shooter XDefiant since May. Now the CoD competitor is entering its first season and has a major update with it.
What kind of game is this? XDefiant is a shooter from Ubisoft that is heavily influenced by Call of Duty. A special feature that is particularly popular with fans of old CoD games is the lack of SBMM (Skill Based Matchmaking), which was deliberately omitted. In the normal rounds, beginners and professionals meet each other.
Even the game’s boss thinks that players who can’t find bad opponents are bad opponents themselves. After things had been rather quiet around the shooter since its release, the CoD alternative now wants to come out with its first season and a major update. The update for Season 1 will be released on July 2nd.

The German police are now also involved
What are the new features? For the first season, the developers at XDefiant have come up with a number of changes for the game. The most important innovation is probably the new faction called GSK. This stands for Border Protection Command and is a unit from Rainbow Six that is based on the German police.
The faction again has two different classes with different tools.
Both classes of the faction wear a ballistic helmet, which reduces the damage of headshots. In addition, both classes have a ballistic shield as their ultimate ability. The shield can not only block bullets from enemies, it can also blind enemies if they get too close.
What other new features does the season offer? The first season of XDefiant also brings three new maps. At the start of the season, only the Clubhouse map is new. However, two more maps are to follow over the course of the season:
In addition to the new maps, there is also a new Battle Pass with free weapons such as the LVOA-C assault rifle or a sawed-off shotgun as a secondary weapon.
Additionally, weapons can now be leveled up and there is a new ranked mode that also offers rewards for players.

What is this new game mode? Ever since the first public test of XDefiant, fans have been asking for the cult game mode Capture The Flag for the game. A year ago, the first user asked about the mode on Reddit. With the first season of the shooter, the fans’ wishes have been heard and the mode has been added to the game as a new feature.
In this game mode, your team has to steal the enemy flag and defend their own flag. The first to steal four enemy flags and bring them safely to the drop-off point wins the game. The big update will also bring new players into the game. It is unclear whether they will stay for long, however.
