EARLY DIAGNOSIS SAVE LIVES

Stating that chronic kidney disease can be understood with blood pressure measurement, a good history and physical examination, complete urinalysis and blood biochemistry, the progression of chronic kidney disease can be stopped if necessary precautions are taken together with early diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Yıldız said, “If chronic kidney disease is not followed and treated, end-stage renal failure is inevitable, patients need kidney replacement treatments such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation.”

E.g; Most cardiology patients also have kidney disease. People with these two diseases should definitely have their kidneys tested. If it is not caught at an early stage, patients may have to undergo dialysis or a kidney transplant. In Turkey, 1 out of every 3 kidney patients has diabetes and 1 has blood pressure. This means that 2 out of 3 kidney patients have blood pressure and diabetes.

Drugs and chemicals that have harmful side effects on the kidneys should be avoided. Urine should not be kept in the bladder and should be urinated at frequent intervals. Those with a family history of kidney disease should consult a physician. A sedentary lifestyle, obesity and overnutrition should be avoided. Daily salt consumption should be limited and tobacco products should not be used.
