Nutrition and hair care play an important role in having healthy hair. There are some points you should pay attention to to prevent hair loss.
OILY FOODS CAUSE THINNING HAIR
Hair loss, which is increasing day by day and frequently seen at early ages, has become an important disease. Global Hair Medical Director Berkant Dural, who stated that especially irregular and unhealthy diet style affects hair health negatively, said, “Diets with fatty foods cause health problems, but also affect the hair follicle. Consuming processed and fried foods harms the health of the hair and brings with it causes such as thinning and shedding.
FATTY FOODS INTERRUPT THE HAIR GROWTH PHASE
Hair follicles follow a separate growth phase in the scalp. This process is divided into three phases: anagen, catagen, and telogen. Stating that hair growth accelerates depending on nutrition, protein and vitamins, Berkant Dural said, “The deterioration and loss of hair structure due to obesity and stress also affects the growth phase of the hair follicle. For this reason, the consumption of oily, packaged foods causes deterioration of the hair follicle and thinning of the hair. However, foods with high nutritional value such as salmon, hazelnuts and avocados have positive effects on hair health.
LOSS INCREASES WITH AGE
Studies show that hair loss caused by unhealthy diet increases with age. In this context, Berkant Dural stated that the diet has a great effect on hair health and said, “A diet that includes protein, vegetables and legumes is one of the keys to protecting hair health. In addition to diet, the stress level being at normal levels is another factor affecting the hair.
HAIR CARE MUST NOT BE NEGLECTED
Underlining the need for regular hair care in order to have lively and lush hair, Dural said, “Massaging the scalp for an average of 4 minutes a day stimulates the blood flow around the hair follicle. Methods such as hair mesotherapy applied to weak and thin hair also allow hair health to be restored in a short time,” he said.
