The fact that an unnamed character was cast so prominently in the credits already suggested that there was more to the friendly guard from Elf’s (Millie Bobby Brown) past. When she is able to restore her suppressed memories as part of the Nina project, the first big revelation follows: the guard is actually number 001 and responsible for the massacre in the laboratory.
But those who saw this revelation coming before will really be blown away. Elsewhere in the Upside Down, Nancy (Natalia Dyer) falls into the clutches of Vecna, who lets her immerse herself in his memories. Now all the pieces of the puzzle come together: Number 001 is not only the son of Victor Creel, but also Vecna.
Present, past and memories flow into one another, while Stranger Things also includes references to the Origin of the Upside Down and Eleven’s true father interspersed. It’s easy to lose track of things. But don’t worry: Here are all the revelations broken down chronologically from 1959 to 1986.
