The classic commercial of Svenska Spel with Salming, Mikael Renberg and Tomas Sandström is really clear proof that Börje’s body had been inflicted with a lot of pain. But how many stitches were there really? We will probably never get an exact answer to that because even Börje Salming didn’t really know himself, but he always used to take a little extra if someone asked.
– How many stitches do I have? Oh, they ask all the kids too. I usually round off to 600-700, he said in an interview with Expressen a few years after his career ended.
