The big club now wants to sign Alexander Isak for a record – could become the most expensive Swede ever in a monster deal

Alexander Isak is having a great season in the Premier League.
Now he can make an exciting change of club this summer, to say the least.
And thus also become the most expensive Swede of all time.

Alexander Isak was bought for expensive money – around SEK 740 million – to big-spending Newcastle from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2022. Since then, Isak has cemented his place as one of the league’s best strikers, and this season has been fantastic for him.

Great success in the PL

Alexander Isak is currently in fourth place in the Premier League’s scoring league, with 17 goals scored. With that, Isak has already touched Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s record for most goals scored by a Swede in one and the same Premier Leauge season. And Isak has a full six games in the spring to single-handedly take the record.

However, Alexander Isak’s Newcastle has had a worse season in the league, and even though it is not completely done yet, it currently looks difficult to reach European games next season. But for Alexander Isak, it can be games on the biggest stages anyway. Persistent rumors place him in much bigger clubs, and on Thursday came, to say the least, exciting information about the Swedish superstar.

Could be the most expensive ever

Alexander Isak has long been linked with the big team Arsenal, and on Thursday, reliable The Guardian wrote that the London club made Isak the priority signing before the summer transfer window. The newspaper further writes that the club must be prepared to pay 100 million pounds, i.e. just over 1.36 billion Swedish kronor, in order to bring about a signing.

That would make Alexander Isak the most expensive Swedish player ever. In the last six months, there have been reports that Newcastle may have to sell Isak to avoid getting into trouble with Financial Fair Play, which makes a deal even more possible. Arsenal spent around the same amount on midfielder Declan Rice last summer, so there’s no doubt the finances are there.
