The Bidens visited New Orleans to meet with the victims

14 people were killed when a 42-year-old man drove into a crowd early Wednesday in New Orleans.

In the United States, the president Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden visited New Orleans on Monday, where they met with victims of the New Year’s Day car attack and their families.

The Bidens visited a place on Bourbon Street where a temporary memorial had been erected in memory of the victims of the tragedy. They laid flowers and held a moment of silence. Later, the Bidens were scheduled to attend a memorial service.

14 people were killed when a 42-year-old man drove into a crowd early Wednesday. New Orleans police say the driver was trying to hit as many people as possible. Two police officers were wounded when the attacker started shooting at them from his vehicle. The police returned fire and the suspect was killed.

The suspect was identified as 42 years old as Shamsud-Din Jabbar. He was a US citizen born in Texas and also served in the country’s military. Jabbar was a veteran of the war in Afghanistan. According to the FBI, he was in possession of the flag of the extremist Islamic terrorist organization Isis.

President-elect Donald Trump blamed the attack on the border policies of President Biden and the Democratic Party, despite the fact that the attacker was an American citizen.
