The Swedish biathlon ladies took Olympic gold in the relay in Beijing and are nominated as Team of the Year at the Sports Gala.
But none of the biathletes will go to the Sports Gala on Monday, according to Emma Höglund, press officer for the national biathlon team.
However, head coach Johannes Lukas, who is nominated for Leader of the Year, will be in Stockholm.
The biathletes compete in the World Cup this week in Ruhpolding, Germany, and next week it continues to Antholz, Italy.
— It will be too great an overall load. We have a very tough schedule as it is, we will compete in three competitions here this weekend and then we will give up at high altitude and compete in Antholz, explains Elvira Öberg at a digital press conference.
She is chasing top positions on a broad front, is second in the overall World Cup, and on February 8-19 the WC in Oberhof also awaits.
