Just recently, HBO showed the first few images from the upcoming fourth season of Succession in addition to new scenes from The Last of Us. Now the series giant is finally delivering a real teaser trailer – and appropriately showed it before the finale of another series in which fought a powerful family to the death: House of the Dragon.
The first teaser of Succession Season 4 picks up where Season 3 of the HBO series left off
At first, only fan recordings appeared on the Internet, but HBO has now uploaded the teaser to its official channels. So the official puzzle as to which clues could be hiding in the 45-second clip is open:

The short clip shows the different Factions within the Roy clan in open warfare. On the one hand patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox), who told his children at the end of season 3 that they would sell the family empire to tech mastermind Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård). On the other hand, his would-be heirs to the throne Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin), as well as older half-brother Connor (Alan Ruck), who no longer want to be humiliated by their father and for the first time have had to work together for a long time, not against each other.
The teaser trailer also raises another question, which last season finale left us with: What’s Next for Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) and Shiv’s Marriage? After all, he and his cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) seem to be clearly on their father’s side.

The family war over the succession at the helm of media empire WaystarRoyco may not have dragons, ice zombies, or ancient prophecies. In return, the HBO series delivers more layered characters, more complex family dynamics and the best-written dialogues in recent TV history. It was not for nothing that the HBO series was named best drama series at the Emmys 2022 for the second time.
The first glimpse of Season 4 may be a bit short, but one thing is clear: even the Targaryens would be shaking their knees in the face of the war that is brewing here. We now have to wait 2 years for season 2 of House of the Dragon. With Succession, on the other hand, it works in spring 2023 continue – so series replenishment in matters of family wars is taken care of.
