The number of players on Steam had already anticipated its success, but it is now official: Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is now a huge global hit. During its latest financial report, Activision revealed that this is the best launch of a Kalof game since the franchise began. No precise figures given but according to data from the American publisher, this is the Call of Duty brings together the most players, and accumulates the most hours and matches played. But that’s not all, the number of Game Pass subscribers also saw its biggest increase for a game release day, while sales jumped 60% compared to last year on PlayStation and Steam.
“Thank you to our players around the world for making Black Ops 6 the best Call of Duty launch ever. From the beginning, our goal has been to bring this game to as many players as possible, wherever they are and however they play. Black Ops 6 is an extraordinary game and the response from the community has been incredible. And this is just the beginning.” said Matt Cox, General Manager of Call of Duty.
A success which should continue with the end of year holidays, especially since the game will obviously receive many updates, including the iconic Nuketown map which arrives tomorrow. Activision takes the opportunity to reveal to us that the series has just exceeded 500 million units sold, making it one of the most lucrative on the planet.
