The best sound settings for Battle Royal and DMZ

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Hardly anything is more important in Call of Duty Warzone 2 than good sound. If you choose the right settings, you can locate your opponents better and react faster – small tweaks can mean the difference between victory and defeat. MeinMMO tells you what to look out for.

There are tons of different settings in Call of Duty that can affect your gaming experience. Sound settings are among the most important changes you should make. Just a few simple steps ensure that you can perceive your opponents earlier.

In both Al Mazrah and Ashika Island, battles often take place in urban areas, whether in the Warzone or DMZ. You often hear the enemies before you see them. Opposing footsteps make a very specific, dull noise, which is often lost in the background sound. All the settings you make to the sound are therefore about improving the reproduction of the low frequency range.

Important: We compared different guides, watched YouTube videos from professionals and did a little experimenting ourselves to find the best sound settings for you. Below we show you our recommendations. However, these are only guidelines that you can use as a guide.

Since hearing and perception are different for everyone, you should use our suggestions as a starting point and fine-tune them according to your preferences.

With these audio settings you always have the upper hand in the Battle Royale

But one thing first: no matter whether you play on the PC or feel at home on the console, we recommend that you use a headset. If you don’t have a headset yet but are thinking about buying one, you can check out the best gaming headsets to buy in 2023

Even if you have good speakers installed in your television or computer screen, they cannot compete with a decent headset. Basically, the closer the audio source is to your listeners, the better.

The respective values that you can find in the table are only guide values. You can customize them according to your preferences. However, we recommend that you only go below the lowest settings in exceptional cases, especially with the audio options for which we have specified a spectrum.

The individual audio options in detail

You should select the “Headphone Bass Boost” audio mix regardless of whether you are actually playing with a headset or not. Of all the options, this mix best reproduces the low frequencies, which include gunshots and especially footsteps. So it’s no wonder that almost all professionals are convinced of it.

You can, however, confidently reduce the music and dialogue volume. Both settings give the campaign a certain depth, but in the Warzone or DMZ they bother you more than they help you. Don’t set the dialogue volume too low either, otherwise you could miss the announcement of an opposing UAV, for example. A value of 25 seems to be a good compromise here.

If you set your hit sounds too low, you may lack sonic feedback in battle. On the other hand, effects that are too loud can disturb your concentration. This is particularly annoying if, for example, a rustling bush distracts you from a sneaking opponent.

You can adjust the volume of the voice chat according to your preferences. It is important that you can hear your team members clearly. If they are too quiet, you can adjust your settings accordingly. Regardless of this, we recommend activating the proximity chat. This setting allows you to eavesdrop on your opponents’ communications when they are near you. With a little luck you can surprise them like this. But beware! Conversely, it also allows your opponents to track your communications.

Finally, it is recommended to activate the tinnitus noise suppression. Once activated, it reduces the sound of flash and stun grenades. You perceive enemy movement better and could, at best, turn a tricky situation in your favor.
