Back in 1995, David Fincher delivered an outstanding film, Seven, that dealt with the Hunt for a serial killer busy. What was exciting back then was not just the killer himself, but above all the way in which he got stuck in the minds of the main characters. 12 years later, Fincher repeated the feat.
Zodiac – The killer’s trail is based on the real one Story of the Zodiac Killer, who killed five people in the San Francisco area between 1968 and 1969. He gave clues to his next victims with cryptic messages, which brought him a lot of media attention. To date the case has not been solved.
Serial killer film with big names: Zodiac scores with Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo
However, Fincher does not take the perspective of the killer in his film. As with Sieben, he deals with the People who hunt him. We follow journalist Paul Avery (Robert Downey Jr.), cartoonist Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal) and detective Dave Toschi (Mark Ruffalo).
