The best sci-fi film of 2021 as a hair-raising trash copy

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Dune is considered by many fans to be one of the best sci-fi blockbusters of recent years. No wonder other studios are trying to capitalize on the hype surrounding the film. For example the trash forge The Asylum, whose shameless imitation Planet Dune is on TV today.

That’s what the sci-fi movie Planet Dune is about

The Asylum earns its money with so-called mockbusters like Transmorphers or Independents War of the Worlds. These are films that have a similar title or story to the big cinema highlights, but are produced much more cheaply. The lack of budget can often be seen in every nook and cranny, not least in quality. And Planet Dune is no exception.

The proximity of the title to the great role model is little more than a bait here. The Asylum work isn’t about feuding noble houses, space wars, or some dark psychedelic resource. Rather, a top pilot (Emily Killian) is transferred to a rescue mission, during which she and her crew crash on a sandy planet. and yourself has to watch out for giant sandworms from now on.

Sci-fi copy heats up Blade Runner legend

Trash copies in general, and Asylum productions in particular, can be charming when the suspense is right and they don’t take themselves too seriously. With Planet Dune, the opposite is true. There is endless bickering here in the dialogue about trivialities, the humor falls by the wayside. Even the hard-working actors cannot change the insipid result. And among those, for some reason unknown, after all, Blade Runner star Sean Young.
