Are you convinced that your latest Samsung phone or your state -of -the -art iPhone is the best to take photographs? Think again! If the latest high -end smartphones of the two industry giants are indeed excellent in this area, they are clearly not the best according to this official classification.
DXOMARK is a research institute specializing in tech product tests. Smartphones, cameras, speakers, or laptops are all devices tested according to strict standards and which allow the institute to regularly establish a classification of the best products in each category. The number one of their ranking is notably quite old since it is a model released in … April 2024!
The ranking of the best photography smartphones is regularly shaken by the arrival of new models which aim to establish themselves as the best on the field. Whether it is OPPO, Google or Samsung, the manufacturers are not lacking in ingenuity and technologies to push the limits of photography.
However, the best smartphone to date according to the DXOMARK laboratory is neither a phone from Samsung, nor an iPhone, nor even a very recent smartphone. This is the latest Huawei Pura 70 Ultra released in April 2024. This very high -end smartphone therefore sits at the top of the DXOMARK site ranking. It is closely followed by the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, the Honor Magic6 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. For fans of Samsung, you have to go down to the 29th place in the ranking to find the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which shines particularly in photo, but struggles a little on the shots in low light as well as in video.
We therefore observe a certain advance in Chinese brands in terms of photography. This is hardly surprising as manufacturers like Huawei or Honor have established themselves as the leaders in the field for several years. The latest Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is even available in France and has Google services via a few little diversions as we had been able to try when it was released.
The Huawei Pura 70 Ultra should however soon give way. His successor, the Pura 80 Ultra, was recently announced and launched in China with new unusual components for photography.
