It’s dessert time for the Best Pastry Chef ! After 13 weeks of fierce competition, the three finalists of the culinary competition have been known since last week: José, Timothée and Tsiory are competing for the final victory this Thursday, January 9, on M6, from 9:10 p.m. It is therefore a winner who was crowned at the end of this 2024 season, filmed last June at the Château d’Ormesson, in Val de Marne.

During the semi-finals of the Best Pastry Chef broadcast in recent weeks, the last four candidates in the running have redoubled their efforts to try to win their ticket. Tsiory, after a slump, managed to get back on track by winning the first creative test with a snowball inspired by his trip to Lapland. José, for his part, had an eventful semi-final. Victim of illness, he had to be absent during the tasting of the creative test. But the candidate was able to bounce back by impressing the jury during the final test, securing a place in the final.

At just 16 years old, Timothée wrote the history of Best Pastry Chefbecoming the record holder for victories during technical events. By achieving his 8th success, he surpassed Camille and his 7 events won during season 8. Three highlights for the Best Pastry Chef final

For this grand finale, amateur pastry chefs will have to delight a prestigious jury, but also the public who come to taste their creations during three final tests concocted by Cyril Lignac and Mercotte. Three highlights to end the Best Pastry Chef in beauty:

  • The creative test will ask the finalists to make a cake telling of their dearest wish, whether it is to open a pastry shop, travel around the world or even win the competition. Imagination and creativity will be required.
  • The technical test will consist of making a perfect galette des rois. The finalists will follow the advice of Nina Métayer, the best pastry chef in the world. Puff pastry, frangipane, lace crown… All the secrets will be revealed to enhance this great classic.
  • The surprise test will top it all off and will invite Timothée, José and Tsiory to propose their “signature cake”, a creation bringing together all their skills. A major challenge, judged by Cyril Lignac and Mercotte but also by the famous pastry chef Pierre Hermé.
