The FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been very much about the controversies that surrounded the championship before and during.
But there are positive sides as well.
At least that’s what SVT’s expert commentator Glenn Strömberg thinks.
The FIFA World Cup in Qatar is slowly coming to an end, and the World Cup final is only a week and a half away. As you know, the championship has been much mocked in advance and the controversies have continued even during the course of the championship.
The unexpected tribute
The broadcasting companies, in Sweden’s case SVT and TV4, have taken care in their broadcasts to highlight all the problems that exist in the country of Qatar as well as the problems that exist around the championship itself. But there are bright spots.

At least if you ask the football icon who is also SVT’s expert commentator Glenn Stromberg. In a live chat on SVT’s website, Strömberg answers questions from viewers and readers, where one of the questions is about what he thinks about the arrangement, facilities and transport when compared to previous championships.

“Best I’ve been to”
Glenn Strömberg then publishes the text and believes that it is the best championship he has been to, at least from that point of view.
– From my perspective, if we let go of the big questions raised before the championship, I personally consider it to be the best championship I have ever been to. It is a maximum of an hour to the arenas, only that is a very big difference compared to before.

Strömberg continues:
– There are also very much fewer mass media people here, so even in media entrances and so on there is never a queue. Also, as everyone understood, there are incredibly fewer fans here, which means that there is less traffic. Having a hotel with all your clothes where we can stay for a whole month has never been my experience, he concludes.
