In Germany, less than a million people saw Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves in the cinema the fantasy adventure is one of the most entertaining blockbusters of the year. Now there’s another way to catch up on the film at home with Star Trek Captain Chris Pine and Fast and Furious family member Michelle Rodriguez.
That’s what Dungeons & Dragons is all about: honor among thieves
A thief (Chris Pine) and a barbarian (Michelle Rodriguez) break out of prison together after two years of incarceration. On their way they meet a talentless wizard (Justice Smith) and a druid (Sophia Lillis). They want it together fraudulent villains (Hugh Grant) steal while the thief wants to free his daughter from his clutches.

Dungeons & Dragons was made by the same directing duo as Game Night and that shows in the fantasy game. The Family-friendly adventure is full of wordplay, imaginative visual ideas and action scenes, who imaginatively build on the powers of their group of heroes. This group impresses with an excellent cast that gives the individual classes from the Dungeons & Dragons game a lot of character.
The film still fell short of expectations at the box office, which was partly due to its timing. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opened sandwiched between two of the year’s big films: John Wick: Chapter 4 and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which attracted a lot of attention.
A sequel hasn’t been announced yet, but at least: the film tells a self-contained story and does not necessarily need a second part.

Dungeons & Dragons has been available for home cinema in both purchase and rental versions for a long time. Today, September 30th, the fantasy adventure will also appear in the Paramount+ catalog and thus for the first time in a streaming flat rate.
