But faced with the quantity of products on the shelves of parapharmacies and supermarkets, how can you be sure of making the right choice?
The magazine 60 Million consumers analyzed 17 face creams. Irritating components, endocrine disruptors, too many ingredients (the Clinique brand moisturizer alone has 43 ingredients), pollutants… They are far from unanimous, and organic products do not always stand out. .
Limit sunscreens
First, avoid moisturizing face creams. with a sun protection factor (SPF). “It’s a shame because the SPF is often insufficient to protect yourself from the sun but involves applying sunscreens to the skin on a daily basis, which are often problematic”says the magazine, targeting Eucerin cream and its SPF25, which combines no less than five different UV filters.
Too many products in the selection also contain phenoxyethanol, a preservative supposedly toxic for reproduction and development. The reason ? “It is one of the least expensive preservatives, the easiest to use, the most useful in the eyes of manufacturers (it makes it possible to reinforce the effectiveness of other preservatives and thus to use them at a lower concentration), who consider it , moreover, very safe”says the magazine.
