The best endgame budget build

In Diablo 4, wizards use the powers of the elements to fight enemies. MeinMMO introduces you to the currently best build for the Ice Shard Sorceress for the endgame with specs, Legendarys and Paragon distribution in German.

What build is this? Ice Shard casters use what’s known as a “machinegun build,” firing their spells in rapid succession and dismantling enemies in rows. They trigger chain reactions and literally explode the whole screen.

Unlike the Blizzard build for casters, however, your focus is more on single target damage and works quite well even without special legendary effects that you have to find first.

This makes the build special: In the tier list of the best builds in Diablo 4, Ice Shard Wizards are currently in the A tier, making them one of the top 3 builds for wizards in the endgame.

Like almost all wizard builds, you play best in close combat. Although you have the opportunity to go at a distance, you only unfold your full potential directly on the opponents.

However, this will consume significantly more mana. Generally, Frostblades are better against bosses, Meteor is better against groups.

Firebolt and Ice Shards are used in the enchantment slots. Firebolt causes enemies to burn, allowing you to use the Devouring Conflagration effect. Your actual damage comes from Ice Shards.

Ice Shard Build – Gameplay and Tips

How to play the build: You try to freeze opponents and apply control effects to activate as many multipliers as possible. Then fire shards of ice at enemies to set off chain reactions. The gameplay is accordingly quite straightforward:

  • Teleport into enemies
  • If skilled: uses Meteor
  • If skilled: uses frost blades (on bosses or tough elite enemies)
  • Casts Frost Nova
  • Uses Ice Shards on enemies that are still standing
  • Cast Flame Shield and Ice Armor to protect and free yourself if necessary
  • Since the build is quite mana-hungry, you should try to catch as many enemies as possible with as few uses of your spells. The Robe of the Infinite helps tremendously in preventing enemies from escaping you.

If you’re having trouble with resources, keep an eye out for lucky strike chances that give you back mana or increase resource regeneration. Ice Shards are ideal for this. Your ice armor can also help with this.
