The best cards in the new set of Pokémon TCG Pocket are already clear, although it is not even outside

On March 27, 2025, the new set A2B from Pokémon TCG Pocket will be released. With the “Glossy Festival” expansion, there are fresh cards again, with the 4 strongest of them already being determined.

What is special about the new set? The upcoming expansion brings the dazzling Pokémon to the collection card game, which many also know as Shinys. These are special color variants of Pokémon that appear much less frequently in the video games. There is another color variant per Pokémon.

The stars of “Glossy Festival” are Glurak-Ex and Lucario-Ex, each in their Shiny colors. So far, only a few of the new cards have been known. But when you look at which Pokémon are already unveiled in the trailer, you can see that 4 new cards will dominate the upcoming meta.

New cards will land in the Pokémon TCG Pocket

Which cards are particularly strong? At the upcoming set, 4 cards are particularly in the foreground, which could be a much better replacement for previous cards:

  • Glurak-Ex is obviously a particularly strong card. The Pokémon can supply itself with energy and then carry out a devastating attack with 150 damage. It could be a good replacement for the previous combination of Lavados-EX and the old Glurak-Ex, which hold the roles individually.
  • Red is a new trainer card that harm more damage to an active ex-Pokémon of the opponent 20. This makes the supporter even better than Giovanni, who is currently being used in many decks. He can only harm another 10.
  • You couldn’t see Schligdri-EX yet, but the card effect is already known (via Bulbapedia). It divides 3 by 50 damage to random, opposing Pokémon. This does better than Dragoran, which distributes 50 damage more, but needs two types of energy and further development.
  • The new Pikachu-Ex is much more powerful than its old version. Instead of distributing a maximum of 90 damage, it can now do 150 damage. The only disadvantage is that it has to put the energy.
  • The trainer card is particularly noteworthy because it makes previous strategies even more effective. With it, for example, Mogelbaum can be pushed even further and make an effective Arceus ex-killer.

When does the set appear? The new expansion will come in Pokémon TCG Pocket on March 27, 2025. From this date you can choose the booster with the new cards and hope to get the 4 strongest cards.
