Recently, an affordable smart phone buying it meant you were probably in a bad time: crappy performance, worthless update support, and maybe even Micro-USB charging. Not so much these days. Some of the cheapest Android phones start under £4,000, and our absolute recommendation is from the best Android flagship phone they are not very different.

The middle class of last year’s phone Snapdragon 750GIt uses an Exynos processor instead and unfortunately lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack – but everything else is the same. This includes a 120Hz OLED display with an under-display fingerprint sensor and a decent array of cameras including a 64-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide (and not-so-useful depth and macro camera).

If this all sounds a bit boring for our Premium Selection, you’re not wrong; The A53 is practically the same phone as last year’s A52 5G, which it replaces on this list. What’s interesting is that the A53’s launch price is cheaper than the previous model. It is also scheduled to receive four years of operating system updates and five years of security patches, which means it will stay up to date and secure until 2027. That’s pretty crazy for a mid-range Android phone, and significantly better than Google’s update.

In the last few months, we have also seen the Galaxy A53 5G drop to as low as 10,000 TL. If you absolutely need a 120Hz display, this is a great option.

Samsunghas reduced its affordable phones to a science; therefore Galaxy A03sthat preceded it Galaxy A02sNot much different from . It still has a 720p LCD at 60Hz, has the same not-so-good camera set, and still runs an older version of Android. However, there are a few notable differences.

Basically, the Galaxy A02s lacks a fingerprint sensor, while the A03s has a built-in power button which means it’s less of a hassle to get into the phone. It also has 3GB of RAM. That’s still not much, but considering the two GB capacity on the A02s, it’s a huge increase. Samsung has also switched from a low-end Snapdragon chipset to a low-end MediaTek chipset. That probably won’t matter much for performance, though, and Samsung is promising quarterly security updates for four years from the phone’s launch – meaning the phone should stay safe until 2026.

If you already have an A02s it’s probably not worth the upgrade to the A03s. It comes in at £3900, £900 more than the A02s costs – and the key difference is the addition of a fingerprint sensor. But if you’re using an older phone, this difference will likely make the A03s worth buying over its predecessor. However, if you want to spend as little as possible overall, the Galaxy A03s remains one of the cheapest Android phones on the market.

Poco X3 Pro not perfect. The big battery makes it bulky, the cameras could be better and MIUI 12 leaves a lot to be desired, but all that doesn’t stop the phone from being an overly good affordable phone.

In contrast, the phone has innumerable powers; Powerful features like outstanding performance, a beautiful screen and absolutely fantastic battery life.

Redmi Note 10 ProIt’s essentially an upgraded one with a nicer screen and a better camera. Poco X3 NFCis .

The screen features a 6.67 inch 120 Hz panel, AMOLED technology which means superior contrast and vibrant colors. Meanwhile, the 108 MP main camera comes with a dual supporting camera that exceeds expectation.

Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro

Poco M4 ProBeing the first M-series device in Poco history to feature an AMOLED display (which also supports 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution), 64Mp is an impressive improvement for the series and battery life (quick charging as well) is good too.

The design is a little different and MIUI 13 for POCO won’t be to everyone’s taste, but in terms of value for money, this is an outstanding option right now.

The best Android phone at the best price

There’s no shortage of cheap Android phones, and more than ever, they’re actually worth buying. If you’re after the cheapest Android phone, Samsung’s A-series models will suit your needs.

However, if you’re more into Samsung’s One UI software, the Samsung Galaxy A53 is an excellent choice with its slightly higher price structure. We saw it for as low as £10,000, an excellent price considering its features. While it has an impressive 120Hz display, most mid-range and budget devices are still at 60Hz. If you value the display above anything else in a smartphone, this model is for you.

If you’re after a truly affordable smartphone with a decent experience, you won’t find it cheaper than the Galaxy A03s. You pay 3,900 TL and it has two features a phone should have – Calls and texts. It also includes a fingerprint sensor and NFC for contactless payments. You won’t find anything flashy here, but it does the trick as a basic entry-level phone.
