In the Fallen films on Netflix, Gerard Butler not only has to save the world, but also himself
One of the great strengths of Butler’s action films is their absolutely straightforward concept. One man, one task. So the start of the exciting trilogy full of shootouts, explosions and races against time begins with a simple task. Agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) has to smuggle the US President (Aaron Eckhart) out of the terrorist-occupied White House.
Sounds easy, but of course it isn’t. Finally, wait lots of dramatic obstacles on the two. And Banning’s life doesn’t become less dangerous with age. In London Has Fallen it’s not just about foiling an attack on an important politician. Rather, terrorists are trying to simply wipe out the entire world’s top ministers and presidents.

And if that wasn’t enough, Banning himself ends up in the crosshairs in Angel Has Fallen. He is now framed for an assassination attempt and suddenly his own people, including the FBI, are on his heels. A nationwide hunt begins in which the former hero suddenly… becomes a target for everyone.
From Olympus Has Fallen to Angel Has Fallen: Gerard Butler once again shows the courage to escalate in his trilogy
Butler has proven time and time again that he can come up with even the craziest concept lovable action ballet can do magic. His gruff, charming manner carries us through artificial, world-devouring storms, ancient Sparta and, in the Fallen trilogy, from Washington to London and back again. At his side are greats like Morgan Freeman.

On the one hand, the trilogy is impressive spectacular action reminiscent of an earlier era. In times when every “one man against the rest” film has to put up with a comparison to John Wick and relies on neon optics, the Banning trilogy seems pleasantly out of time. But on the other hand, that doesn’t mean that we have to stay on the carpet here in any way.
Rather, Butler doesn’t shy away increasing absurdity and escalation. And that’s good. That’s exactly where the fun lies. Blow up the White House? Clear. Blow up London’s biggest attractions and target the entire world elite? Yes, please! Make the man who has saved the world countless times with his own hands a victim himself? But only if there is a fair hail of bullets.
Who on flying building parts and the rhythm of gunfire and fireballs still gets its money’s worth here. And you can completely indulge in the action with a streaming subscription on Netflix with Gerard Butler’s Fallen trilogy.
