The best academies meet again in LaLiga Promises

The great international youth soccer tournament is back. And it does it with more enthusiasm than ever, after being suspended in 2020 and having been postponed in 2021 due to the pandemic. In fact, the edition that is being played these days was scheduled to be held last Christmas (the date on which this tournament is traditionally played). With the new wave of COVID-19 reducing its intensity, the LaLiga Promises Santander International Tournament will return to the Maspalomas Sports City with a XXV edition that will be held until Sunday with the best quarries in the world.

Organized by LaLiga in collaboration with the José Ramón de la Morena Foundation, this tournament will have a 7-a-side football format and will feature the participation of a total of fourteen teams (ten Spaniards -Real Madrid, Barça, Atlético, Valencia, Villarreal, Betis, Sevilla, Las Palmas, Tenerife and Celta- and four foreigners -Borussia Dortmund, Benfica, Liverpool and Juventus) children’s category (Under-12).

All of them will meet in Gran Canaria for three days of a lot of football. The group stage will be divided between Friday and Saturday. Therefore, it will be the turn of the quarterfinals, which will be left for Saturday afternoon. AND, on Sunday, it will be the turn of the semifinals and the grand final. In total, around thirty matches in which the talents of the future that are cooking in our football will be revealed.

Real Madrid, current champion of the last two editions of this international tournament (2018 and 2019) and king of the winners (he has eight titles, one more than Barça), part as favorite in an edition that starts today with great enthusiasm. The whites will be the rival to beat, but they will not be the only team that will monopolize the spotlight, with great quarries like the one from Barça (7 titles) or Atlético (3 titles), second and third in the list of winners. Both will seek, along with the rest of the clubs, to dethrone Madrid, which raised its last title in this tournament in the edition that was played in Abu Dhabi, where José Reyes, the son of José Antonio Reyes, shone.

This will be the group stage of the LaLiga Promises Santander International Tournament:

Group A: Barcelona, ​​Benfica, Celta and Real Betis

B Group: Villarreal, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid

Group C: Real Madrid, Liverpool and Tenerife

Group D: Juventus of Turin, Valencia, Las Palmas and Seville.
